Relaxing With Jamie

There is something I find absolutely refreshing about watching the Naked Chef with Jamie Oliver.

Its a combination of his down-to-earth nature, his flawed speech with a lisp, his unassuming dressing that makes one take to him easily. He doesn't sound nor look like Nigella Lawson or Anthony Bourdain who have friendly dispositions, but somehow... distant. He keeps up a nice banter, giving us a peek into his life and at times, of him as a person.

His cooking is messy and like him, very down-to-earth. He notes the cost of the ingredients and is able to make the most delicious looking dishes at prices WE can afford. No macedamia oil, just Sainsbury's economy olive. He uses his hands, and spills things all over the place... very much like we do at home.

The best part is that he is always cooking for a party. And unlike most other shows, there is no one to taste the food but the chef. Jamie throws such fun looking parties, where everyone enjoys the food. It is the energy of the last 5 minutes, where they show the party that is the best part of the show. What can beat close friends coming together having a good meal with a good glass of wine? Nothing.

Thats why I like to watch the Naked Chef at the end of the day. It must be the best way to end your waking hours. Its showing at midnight on Channel 16 SCV.Posted by Hello
