The Fear of What Next

Over the past few weeks, we've learnt that our ruling political party is homophobic (Dr Balaji), sexist (no full Ministers in the Cabinet), economically driven (hence casino, screw all you religious moral people), have a warped sense of responsibility (only nucleus families can apply for HDB flats, single mothers have to count on their own families) but great showmen (suddenly the news if full of Ministers talking to youths and people - to show that they listen? Ah, but do they act on what they have heard?)

Dr Balaji wants to criminalise HIV. Yesterday's New Paper had the headline of "How to Turn a Blind Eye?" This is with reference to the approximately 100 wives a year who have no idea that their husbands have HIV. I say this is playing to the gallery (which according to a recent Appeals Court ruling, is not defamatory). Don't get me wrong, I'm sorry that wives have to go through life with husbands who cannot keep their cocks in their pants. So Dr Balaji - change something else, add a clause in the Women's Charter or something. It protects both the husbands and the wives. So if your wife decides to screw her boss without the condom, then husbands are protected too.

The question is if we allow HIV to be criminalised, if you are promiscious and don't take precautions we will jail you, then the question is why stop there? What about Hepatitis B, or STDs? Criminalise that won't you? I say it takes two hands to clap. So responsibility and fault should be shared by both the infector and the infectee. We know the Government loves to meddle with our lives in the bedroom - no sex other than missionary is legal, have babies or we will bombard you with flyers, but isn't this too much? Shouldn't a mature society be trusted to rule itself with condom use? I wonder.

Balaji is one heckofa showman. Says he said the ALL GAYS HAVE HIV comment to stir controvesy and conversation. Bloody hell, don't they have rights? How can you put your citizens into the spotlight for such a flippant reason? Why didn't he talk about all the imported "chickens" and their patrons instead?

So much about the Govt I dislike. So much more to write. But I'm afraid I'll bore you, and myself. What to do? Too bad I'm too apathetic to do anything, or rather, I'm afraid I'll be the next Joshua Benjamin Jeyaratnam. The nail that sticks out does get hammered in. Maybe the Worker's Party should consider redesigning their logo. Ha.

P.S. I'm not gay, just incensed at Balaji.

Thats bizzare!
Your government actually has legislation on sexual positions.

If Blair tried to do that over here there would be a revolution...

Seriously!!
