Of Entrapment.

You know the Medic who was thrown in Jail and parents have to sell their house to pay off the bond?

This is my response to Mr Drinkalot. (any relation to Lil Ms Drinkalot?)

Hi.

Firstly, I agree that "entrapment" is illegal in most "proper" nations. Including the USA. But lest we forget, the FBI does go online posing as virginal 14 year olds to trap and arrest paedophiles. Oh, and so does Scotland Yard of UK.

Hence, in the same light, I do not think there was "entrapment" per se. The fundamental difference in purposely dropping $50 on a crowded street and arresting the picker (actually - thats no crime - lost property)and this case.

On a crowded street, people do not trawl with the purpose of looking for $50. This might not be the case for ppl who visit online sex sites, forums, knowing that they will probably run into an offer for sex.

Another case I've heard.

Smoking duty unpaid cigarettes.

Person leaves duty unpaid pack on coffeeshop table. Undercover police officer comes up and asks for one. Owner says, "its mine and please go ahead and take one" (him being nice and generous). Officer arrests him as the owner for smoking duty unpaid cigarettes.

Entrapment? Nope, cos the crime has already been committed. Officer is only identifying the perpertrator.

Don't get me wrong, I feel sorry for the family of the Good Doctor. But, hey, make wrong choices (drugs) and don't regret/bitch when you have pay for it.

actually was he charged for sex or drugs or both?

correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't it a case of the cops making him bring them drugs? in other words, he may not have committed the drug-related crime at that time had it not been for someone instigating him to do so. granted he may have committed a crime before when he did drugs. and he was committing a crime looking at porn and soliciting gay sex. so yes, catch him for the sex offence, fine. but to keep hassling him for drugs and then charging him for a drug-related offence (if they did indeed do that) when all he wanted is a little sex, then that's wrong isn't it?

I'm not entirely sure (and no one will be cos they wont tell) on who asked who to bring the drugs and whether there was any instigation or suggestion by the cops to bring drugs.

Fact of the matter is that he brought the drugs.

And got caught with his pants down.

Don't get me wrong, I am sorry that it happened. But thats the thing, dun trust ppl u get to know online.
