$ing Dollar

I caught the musical $ing Dollar last evening @ the Esplanade.

With a stellar cast including The Dim Sum trio, Kumar, Hossan, Sebastian, Kay Sui, Najip, you know its going to be a barrel of laughs.

And it was!

The theatrical direction was excellent - and it was helped by an amazing set on stage. The set is comparable to any Broadway / West End show you see in the Esplanade. You know this is not a half-past six show when you see the effort put behind the set.

The music was well composed, and you can just hear cultural influences in different pieces. You see, there is a Malay, an Indian, Chinese person... and each character sings a solo. So u can hear the cultural influences in those songs.

I take my hats off to the writers. They must have re-wrote major parts of the script to incorporate recent events like MJ's demise.

Kudos to Dream Academy. Its so good, I want to watch it again!
