Radish

Men are quite poor things.

Women do expect men to provide for them. Whilst I have no issues with this, fact of the matter is, what is my payback?

Hence, I am of the opinion that if you want me to give freely and willingly, you need to give me something in return.

when it comes to love and responsibility, why do you expect something in return?

not to say that your other half should treat you like trash while you provide for her, but if your basic needs are met, why are searching for payback?

This post discusses the matter on 2 levels.

I agree with you to a certain degree that if your other half meets your basic needs, you should not be looking for a "payback" per se.

Basic needs can be defined as the minimal compatibility required for the relationship to exist, so this includes good company, a good listening ear, etc. So level 1 discusses about basic needs. what if your partner does not meet your basic needs?

Even if your partner meets your basic needs, sometimes, we reach a point when we get tired to be one initiating the giving all the time. That's human nature. Thats level 2 of the short post - to initiate giving.

thanks for the comment, yanny. =)
